Welcome to House of Mercy

House of Mercy, Edwin Street, Gravesend, is a registered charity which provides hostel accommodation, support and a positive future for single homeless people.

The project was established in 1992 by the Sisters of Mercy, Gravesend, in response to the increase in the number of homeless people calling to the Convent for food and clothing.

Today House of Mercy has a staff of five and each resident has a Key/Resettlement Worker with whom they meet at least once a week.

In June 2012, thanks to the generosity of the Sisters, we were able to open a three bedroom Second Phase house. This house is also situated in Gravesend.
